Berlin, March 7, 2025 – The Emirate of Sharjah, represented by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), is participating in ITB Berlin 2025, the world's largest travel trade exhibition, alongside a delegation of 19 public and private sector entities.

Held from March 4 to 6 at the Berlin Exhibition Centre under the theme “The World of Travel Lives Here,” the event provides an opportunity for Sharjah to highlight its diverse tourist attractions and further strengthen its position on the global tourism map.

Sharjah’s pavilion at ITB Berlin offers an interactive journey showcasing the emirate’s natural landscapes, heritage sites, and modern landmarks. Visitors can explore desert, mountainous, and coastal areas, alongside cultural and recreational destinations, presenting Sharjah as a multifaceted travel destination.

Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of SCTDA, emphasized the strong historical ties between Sharjah and Europe, particularly Germany, and highlighted the emirate’s appeal to European travelers seeking authentic cultural experiences.

The Sharjah delegation includes key government entities such as the Environment and Protected Areas Authority, Sharjah International Airport Authority, and Sharjah Museums Authority, as well as private-sector representatives including Air Arabia and Sharjah National Hotels. The emirate is showcasing its efforts in sustainable tourism, ecotourism, adventure tourism, and cultural tourism, which have positioned Sharjah as a regional leader in responsible travel.

Sharjah’s growing appeal among European tourists is reflected in the increasing number of German visitors, with around 13,000 German hotel guests in 2023 and expectations for a rise to 14,000 in 2024. European tourist arrivals to Sharjah also grew by 16% in 2024, reinforcing its status as a key tourism destination.
