Buenos Aires, April 28, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Taif City, recognized as a UNESCO City of Literature, is participating in the 49th Buenos Aires International Book Fair through a dedicated pavilion, organized in collaboration with the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission.
The participation, which runs from April 22 to May 12, reflects the Commission's ongoing commitment to promoting Saudi culture on the global stage and highlighting the Kingdom’s distinguished literary accomplishments.
Taif's involvement holds particular significance as it is the first Saudi city to be included in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network for literature. Its presence at the fair complements Riyadh’s selection as this year’s Guest of Honor, marking a historic moment for the Kingdom’s cultural diplomacy and reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s growing role in fostering international cultural exchange.
The Taif pavilion offers visitors a comprehensive insight into the city’s rich literary heritage, contemporary literary production, and cultural identity. It also serves to emphasize the importance of Saudi Arabia’s initiatives in building bridges between nations through literature, creativity, and dialogue.
This participation aligns with the broader objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to strengthen the Kingdom’s cultural presence worldwide and to celebrate the diversity and vibrancy of its literary and intellectual landscape.
The Buenos Aires International Book Fair, one of the largest and most important cultural events in the Spanish-speaking world, provides a distinguished platform for Saudi Arabia to present its dynamic literary movement and to engage with international audiences through meaningful cultural interactions.
