Tuwaiq Sculpture 2025 Concludes, Showcasing Global Artistic Excellence in Riyadh

Riyadh, February 26, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The sixth annual Tuwaiq Sculpture has successfully concluded after 40 days of live sculpting, cultural exchange, and community participation, reinforcing Riyadh’s status as a global hub for contemporary art.
Held under the theme "From Then to Now: Joy in the Struggle of Making," this year’s symposium offered an immersive experience, allowing visitors to witness the creative process in real time as 30 artists from 23 countries sculpted their masterpieces from January 15 to February 8.
Live Sculpting, Interactive Programs, and Cultural Exchange
Tuwaiq Sculpture 2025 went beyond traditional exhibitions by fostering direct engagement between artists and the public. The event featured:
Live sculpting sessions where visitors observed artists at work
11 panel discussions and 10 workshops on artistic techniques and creative expression
Six professional training programs, offering hands-on experience for emerging sculptors
Guided tours, introducing audiences to the world of sculpture and its historical significance
A professional trainee program, where 10 participants worked alongside international artists, gaining firsthand artistic and cultural knowledge
The symposium was curated by Sebastian Betancur-Montoya (Lead Curator) and Dr. Manal Al-Harbi (Associate Curator), whose artistic vision shaped the event’s focus on creativity, collaboration, and innovation.

Following the live sculpting phase, the completed artworks were unveiled at an exhibition from February 12 to February 24, giving visitors a final opportunity to view all sculptures together before their permanent distribution across various locations in Riyadh.
