UAE and Serbia Strengthen Strategic Partnership During High-Level Talks in Belgrade

Belgrade, October 5, 2024 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates and President Aleksandar Vucic of Serbia held talks in Belgrade to enhance the strategic partnership between their two nations. The discussions focused on expanding cooperation in key areas, including investment, trade, technology, food security, and renewable energy, with both leaders emphasizing the benefits of strengthening bilateral ties.


During His Highness Sheikh Mohamed's working visit to Serbia, President Vucic warmly welcomed the UAE delegation, expressing appreciation for the visit and highlighting the growing partnership between the UAE and Serbia. He noted that the strengthened relationship supports the shared ambitions of both nations to foster development and prosperity.


The leaders discussed the progress of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between the two countries, which has paved the way for increased collaboration in various sectors. They also touched on several regional and international issues of mutual concern, stressing the need for peaceful solutions to global crises to ensure development and stability.


Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed reaffirmed the UAE’s strong commitment to peace, stability, and cooperation, particularly in the Balkans. He emphasized the UAE’s belief in resolving disputes through dialogue and peaceful means, stating that economic cooperation is a critical pathway to achieving a better future for all.


A key focus of the talks was the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the UAE and Serbia, which is expected to significantly boost trade and investment between the two nations. His Highness Sheikh Mohamed highlighted that Serbia’s inclusion in the UAE’s CEPA programme reflects the shared opportunities both countries can leverage for mutual benefit.


The meeting was attended by a high-level delegation from both nations, including H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and several UAE ministers and senior officials, further underscoring the importance of the UAE-Serbia partnership.


This visit marks another milestone in the deepening ties between the UAE and Serbia, as both countries continue to pursue joint initiatives to promote economic growth and international cooperation.
