Weather Alert: Heavy Thundershowers, Flash Floods, and Strong Winds Expected Across Saudi Arabia

Riyadh, November 25 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The National Center for Meteorology has issued a weather alert warning of moderate to heavy thundershowers, potential flash floods, hail, and dust-stirring winds affecting several regions of Saudi Arabia, including Jazan, Aseer, Al-Baha, Makkah, Madinah, Qassim, Riyadh, and the Eastern Region.


Key Forecast Highlights:


  • Rain and Flooding: Moderate to heavy thundershowers are expected, with the possibility of flash floods and hail.

  • Fog: Fog may form in parts of Tabuk, Al-Jouf, and the affected regions.

  • Temperature Drop: A significant decrease in temperatures is anticipated across northern and central Saudi Arabia.


Marine Conditions:


Red Sea:

  • Winds: Northerly to northwesterly at 25-50 km/h in the northern region; northwesterly to southwesterly at 15-60 km/h in the central and southern regions.

  • Waves: 1.5 to 2.5 meters in the north; half a meter to over 2 meters in the central and southern parts.

  • Sea: Relatively calm to choppy.


Arabian Gulf:

  • Winds: Northeasterly to southeasterly at 10-50 km/h in the northern and central parts; northeasterly to easterly at 10-25 km/h in the southern part.

  • Waves: Half a meter to over 2 meters.

  • Sea: Calm to choppy.


Residents are advised to exercise caution, avoid low-lying areas prone to flooding, and monitor updates from local authorities. Mariners should take note of rough sea conditions and plan accordingly.
