RIYADH - The National Center for Meteorology has issued a weather alert for Saturday, forecasting moderate to torrential thundershowers accompanied by strong winds across several regions of Saudi Arabia. The affected areas include parts of Jazan, Aseer, Al-Baha, and extending into the southern parts of the Makkah region.

Residents in Najran, Hail, Madinah, Qassim, and western parts of Riyadh should also prepare for thundershowers. Additionally, there is a possibility of fog formation in parts of Jazan and Aseer during the late night and early morning hours.

Marine conditions will vary across the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf. The Red Sea will experience southwesterly to northwesterly winds with speeds ranging from 15 to 60 km/h, creating waves that could reach one to three meters. The sea is expected to be relatively calm to choppy. In contrast, the Arabian Gulf will see northwesterly to northeasterly winds at speeds of 10 to 30 km/h, with waves ranging from half a meter to one meter, resulting in relatively calm sea conditions.
